About Us

Hextex is situated just outside the town of Worcester, at the heart of the Boland district in the Western Cape. The property is on 400,000m2 of which 40,221m2 is under roof, making it is one of the largest vertically integrated textile manufacturing plants in South Africa.

Hextex is a unique South African industrial textile resource, competing with imported woolen and worsted fabrics in terms of quality, flexibility in product development, and speed to market.

The company is located just outside the Boland town of Worcester, around 110 kilometres from the city of Cape Town. There are excellent road routes from Hextex to both Cape Town’s port and the international airport, and Worcester offers direct land route access, via the N1 highway, to Gauteng’s economic hubs and other countries in the SADC region. The company is also just a short distance from the major wool production centres at Caledon and Bredasdorp, Swellendam, Heidelberg and Riversdal (Cape Wools).

Under new leadership, special care is being taken to restore and recommission the plant’s machinery – including vintage looms that are able to produce unmatched fabric and pattern quality – with a plan to reclaim Hextex’s position and expand its legacy, in a sustainable and profitable way. Our value proposition is simple: capacity, capability, competence, and culture.
