Hextex Fabrics

With our facilities restored and carefully recommissioned, Hextex has the potential to return to being a key local partner in the sustainable production of fabrics such as wool, mohair, and cotton.

From dyeing to blending, drawing, spinning and rewinding, weaving and knitting, Hextex is the largest vertically integrated textile processing and production facility in the country, and is able to take on specialised commission work for higher and lower volumes. Our product offerings are geared towards sustainability, quality, and reliability, with a uniquely diverse and specialised set of processes and a significant installed capacity. Hextex is the only local facility that is specially geared for worsted fabrics, and is also able to handle a wide range of fibres and yarns including wool, acrylics, and polyester-acrylic blends, with yarn counts from 1/16 to 1/56NM. With its facilities restored and carefully recommissioned, Hextex has the potential to return to being a key local partner in the sustainable production of fabrics such as wool, mohair, and cotton.

Hextex’s plant is fitted with leading industry brand name machines including N. Schlumberger, Zinser, Karl Mayer, Dornier, Sultzer, Toyota, Fongs, and Shima Seiki. While many of these are older models, cold commissioning and benchmark runs have demonstrated that they continue to provide reliable performance and, most important, are able to deliver exceptional quality products because of the high calibre of craftsmanship in their original design and manufacture.
